AI consulting
Most businesses do not have an AI problem. They have a two hours a day problem, and nobody has ever sat down and worked out where those two hours go.
What we keep finding
Six problems, in six different industries
None of these are technology problems. They are all problems where the information already exists and nobody has joined it up.
The engagement
From a conversation to a plan you can act on
You can stop after stage four with a plan in your hand and never speak to us again. Plenty do, and that is a fine outcome.
An hour with you and whoever actually does the work. Not a demo. We ask what takes longest, what goes wrong most often and what you would fix if you had a spare month. You get our honest read at the end of it, whether or not you go further.
We map what you actually run: the software, the spreadsheets, the paper, and the workarounds people have invented because the software does not do what they need. The workarounds are usually where the opportunity is.
Every candidate written down with the hours it consumes now, what it would take to change, and what it would save. Ranked, so you can see which two are worth doing and which eight are not. We are as specific about the ones we would leave alone.
Sequenced, costed, with the dependencies named and a first milestone you can reach inside a month. Written so your team can act on it without us, and yours to keep whether we build it or somebody else does.
We implement the plan, or the parts of it you want. Fixed scope agreed in writing, the same as everything else we do.
Where it lands
Three we have seen up close
The problem
A daily plan built by hand each morning, from constraints held in somebody's head.
What we do
Work out what actually governs the decision, then automate the first pass so a person is editing a plan rather than building one from nothing.
What changes
The planner spends the morning on exceptions instead of the whole board.
The problem
The same information typed twice, matched by eye, and chased from memory.
What we do
Extract the data automatically, route anything uncertain to a person, and send exceptions to whoever can actually settle them.
What changes
The team stops typing and starts checking.
The problem
Quotes taking days because the pricing logic lives with one person.
What we do
Get that logic out of the head and into something the whole team can use, then draft the quote for a human to check and sign off.
What changes
Quotes go out the same day, and the business stops depending on one person being available.
Straight answers
What we will talk you out of
Anybody can tell you AI will transform your business. The useful supplier is the one who tells you where it will not, before you have spent anything.
- If a spreadsheet would fix it, we will tell you to use a spreadsheet.
- If the payback is longer than eighteen months we will say so rather than sell it.
- We do not put a chatbot in front of customers who would rather speak to you.
- We will not recommend a tool we have a commercial relationship with. We have none.
Questions
Before you get in touch
No. The people we most want in the first conversation are the ones doing the work, not the ones who know what an API is.
If one person is losing a day a week to something repetitive, the arithmetic already works. Most of our consulting is with businesses under fifty people.
The first conversation is free. The review and the written plan are a fixed fee quoted before we start, based on how many processes you want looked at. Implementation is quoted separately, and you are never obliged to use us for it.
Almost never, and we would push back if somebody suggested it. Most of the value is in the gaps between the systems you already pay for.
Then that is the answer, and you will have it in writing along with what would help. It happens often enough that we would be lying to promise otherwise.
The two of us. Between us we have spent years applying this inside large software engineering teams and inside traditional businesses that had never touched it. There is no junior team behind us.
Start here
An hour, and an honest read
Bring the person who does the job, not just the person who signs things. Tell us what takes longest. We will tell you whether it is worth solving.
